Ron Lamb 1934 - 2016

Ronald Wright Lamb, a valiant, devoted husband, father, grandfather and disciple of Jesus Christ, passed away January 26, 2016 after a two-year battle with cancer.

He was born in Salt Lake City on April 19, 1934, to Alta Wright and Delbert Molen Lamb. He married Ida Josephine Bywater on December 29, 1958, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He served an LDS mission to the Great Lakes from 1954 to 1956, and also served a CES mission with his wife to Virginia from 2000 to 2002. He obtained his Bachelors and Masters Degrees at the University of Utah, followed by a Doctorate in Education at the University of Arizona. Dr. Lamb served in the Salt Lake City school district as a teacher, administrator in the district offices, and the principal of Roselyn Heights, Washington and Emerson elementary schools. He served as a staff sergeant in the US Army Reserves.

Ron learned early on to give selfless service to others, which he did throughout his life. He worked well with all ages. He was a dedicated home teacher whose families considered him a good friend. He served in the LDS church as a Bishop, Stake Executive Secretary, High Councilor and in many other callings.
He had a love for gardening and taught many of his children and grandchildren the joy of working the land. He had a passion for family history, especially his pioneer ancestors about whom he wrote a book. He was also the inspiration behind a book about his wife’s pioneer ancestors.
