Gene was born on October 22, 1941, in O’Neill, NE, to John and Helen (Cleary) Turner. He graduated from St. Mary’s High School in 1959. He served in the U.S. Navy. Gene married Joan Reising on April 20, 1963 in Omaha, NE. To this union, 4 children were born: Pam, Kim, Steve, and Jenny. Gene was a truck driver and he owned and operated O’Neill Transfer, hauling general commodities. He also worked for Wynne Transfer out of Omaha, NE, hauling liquid in tanker trucks. He was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus Council #701 for 51 years, a member of the O’Neill Country Club for many years, and a member of the O’Neill Eagles Club.

Gene is preceded in death by his parents, 1 sister, Donna Reising, 1 Son-In-Law Glen Huber, 3 Brothers-in-Law, and 1 Nephew.
