Shirley Ann Russell Baughman was born June 30, 1941 in DeWitt, Arkansas to James Washington and Bessie Elizabeth (DeWease) Aycock. She was the fourth of 7 children.
Shirley was a loving housewife, mother, and grandmother- she was all about her family! She enjoyed outdoor activities like gardening, fishing, camping, and watching sports- she especially liked her Royals, as well as hockey and wrestling.
Shirley was married to Darrell Russell 33 years and together they raised 3 daughters. Mr. Russell passed away in 1994. In 2006, Shirley married Terry Wayne Baughman
and they shared 9 years together before he passed on in 2014.
Shirley was preceded in death by both her parents, her first husband, Darrell Russell, her second husband, Terry Baughman, and her oldest sister, Mary.
On Monday, January 25, 2016, Shirley passed away surrounded by her loving family. She leaves to cherish her memory 3 daughters: Tammy Russell, Cathy Bookman, and Janie Patterson; 7 grandchildren: Denny, Jenney, Nathan, Alvin, Amber, Tamara, and Tracy; her siblings: James, Jr., Ruby, Linden, DeWayne, and Yolanda; and many great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends.
Visitation will take place at Highland Park Funeral Home, 4101 State Avenue, Kansas City, KS 66102 on Thursday, January 28, 2016 from 3:00- 5:00 p.m. Graveside services will take place on Friday, January 29, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at May Cemetery in Chula, MO.
