Deborah Hux Ross July 19, 1948 to August 4, 2013It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Deborah Hux Ross on August 4, 2013 after a prolonged battle with cancer. Deborah was born in Raleigh, North Carolina to Atlas Lee and Marie Stell Hux on July 19, 1948. Her parents as well as her two brothers, Gary Lee and Joel Michael Hux preceded her in death. She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Roger Dale Ross and their two sons and daughters-in-law David Jason Ross and Tenley Reed of London, England and Michael Allen and Besse Kern Ross of Houston, Texas as well as their seven grandchildren whom she adored; Jenson Shepard, Dashiell William, Thayer Hux, Annabel Elizabeth, Graydon Reed, Eliza Margaret and Stuart Lila Ross. Deborah was able to spend the week of her 65th birthday which included a special birthday party surrounded by her entire family and close friends. The family would like to thank Connie and Brooke Farnsworth and Alice and Josh Wright for their constant support of Deborah during her battle with cancer. They spent countless days and months at her bedside encouraging and comforting her. We could not have made it without their unwavering support. Thanks is also due to caregivers Delores Cueva and Signora Broussard for their physical and spiritual encouragement of Deborah during her illness. We are also appreciative of the countless friends for their cards, calls, visits but mostly for the prayers that were lifted up on her behalf. The family would be remiss in not thanking the physicians and staff at MD Anderson Cancer Center and Texas Oncology-Willowbrook. The clinical guidance and compassion they demonstrated made a significant difference in her life.Deborah was a devoted member of Bammel Church of Christ and her faith in God and courage never wavered during her long illness. She was an ardent supporter of the missions of Impact Church of Christ in Houston as well as the Lifeline Chaplaincy at the Texas Medical Center in Houston. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to either of these outstanding organizations.A memorial service to celebrate Deborah's life is scheduled at Bammel Church of Christ, 2700 FM 1960 West, Houston, Texas 77068 at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 10, 2013. A reception will be held immediately following the service at Champion's Golf Club, 13722 Champions Drive, Houston, Texas 77069. Arrangements are being made through Klein Funeral Home - Champions, 281-320-2674. - See more at: http://www.legacy.com/obituaries/houstonchronicle/obituary.aspx?pid=166272964#sthash.PK8p2htD.dpuf
