TX to a 17-Section ranch located about 17 miles south of Roswell, NM. The ranch home was adobe. Carl and his wife, Hazel Dawn, lived in a trailer on the ranch until it was sold. Their first two sons were born while they lived on the ranch. About 1946, Carl returned to irrigation farming west of Hagerman, NM, then moved to a farm south of Roswell, NM. Alfalfa and cotton were the principle crops. About 1982 he leased a large ranch east of Ruidoso, NM where he grazed sheep. The ranch was under El Capitan Mtn. Bears had been bothering the sheep, and he was out riding with his ranch workman on a four-wheel-drive All-Terrain Vehicle checking out the sheep. In an accident the ATV flipped and Carl was killed. Carl was a member of the Church of Christ in Roswell, had served this Church for many years, and was a true servant of God.
