After marrying his high school sweetheart in 1953, Jack and Gail Orton Perry moved to Pine Bluff where he practiced medicine for 52 years. His wife Gail, an RN, often helped him in the office.
Jack served as Chief of Staff at JRMC and as an associate professor for UAMS, teaching medical students through the AHEC program.
He was a licensed pilot and loved astronomy and photography. He also enjoyed umpiring for Little League Baseball.
Jack was a veteran, serving in the Air Force Reserves.
He was an active member of First Baptist Church, Pine Bluff, for 53 years where he sang in the choir and served as a deacon. Later he was a member of Noland Road Baptist Church, Independence, MO.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Sylvia Burton Perry and Jack C. Perry, and brother, Edward Perry.
Survivors include his wife, Gail Orton Perry; daughter, Jana Stober (Gregg) and grandsons Daniel & David; son, Dr. Paul Bryan Perry (Karen) and granddaughter Margaret Elizabeth Perry McKissack (Michael); son Brett (Valeriejean) and grandchildren Kayla Elise and Cameron Seth Perry.
Visitation is Friday evening, January 29th from 5:00–7:00 p.m. at Ralph Robinson & Son, Pine Bluff. Services are January, 30 at 10:30 a.m., First Baptist Church, Pine Bluff, followed by burial in Graceland Cemetery. Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church in Pine Bluff.
