Douglas Edward Ferguson, 53, Lanesville, died Sunday, Jan. 24, 2016, at Floyd Memorial Hospital and Health Services in New Albany. Born Oct. 27, 1962, in Corydon, he was the son of Jay Ronald and Verna Lee Ferguson of Milltown.

He was the owner of Ferguson and Associates Inc. bookkeeping and tax services, a former fifth-grade teacher at Corydon Intermediate School and attended Southeast Christian Church.

He was preceded in death by grandparents Edward and Mary Sacksteder and Fred and Fern Ferguson; great-grandparents Joseph and Ada Ferguson; and an uncle, Charles Edward Sacksteder.

Survivors besides his parents include his spouse, the former Tammy Birkla; a daughter, Taylor Nicole Ferguson; two sons, Douglas Chase and Luke Tyler Ferguson; and two brothers, Jay Myron Ferguson (Donna) of Jeffersonville and Kevin Joseph Ferguson (Kristy) of Owensboro, Ky.

Visitation: Friday, Jan. 29, from 4:30 to 8:30 p.m. and Saturday, Jan. 30, from 10 a.m. to noon at Milltown Elementary School .Funeral: Saturday, Jan. 30, at 1 p.m. on the Ron Ferguson Court at Milltown Elementary School with burial in Milltown Cemetery.
