Wesley Woodrow Nash, 100, passed away in Italy, Texas, on Monday, January 25, 2016. Interment will follow in Myrtle Cemetery.
Wesley was born in Howard, Texas, to the late James Wesley and Lillie Givens (Holt) Nash. He grew up in Ellis County and attended school in Boyce. On November 25, 1936, he married Ina Mae Cooke and they made their home in Ellis County.
He worked for many years on the family farm and the Davis Farm. Later he owned and operated the Nash Garage in Ennis and the Nash Garage and Welding in Bardwell. He was a member of the Baptist Church. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. He served his community in many capacities including the Bardwell School Board, Mayor of Bardwell and Fire Chief of Bardwell.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ina Mae Nash in 2005; brother, Preston G. Nash; and sister, Ruby Orlean Wood.
Survivors include his sons, Donald Ray Nash and wife, Mary, and Gary Nash and wife, Sandra; daughter, Carol Ann Barham and husband, Bobby; seven grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; twelve great-great-grandchildren; one great-great-great-granddaughter; other relatives and many friends.
