Helen Millwood Coggin, 85, of Mendenhall, MS died Tuesday, January 26, 2016 at Simpson General Hospital in Mendenhall after a long battle with Alzheimers. She was born Saturday, April 19, 1930 in Belzoni, MS.
She lived with her daughter and son-in-law for four years as she battled this disease. She was loved by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and will be greatly missed.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 28, 2016 at 10:00 AM at Colonial Chapel in Magee. Burial will follow in Magee City Cemetery in Magee. Bro. Danny Dickerson will officiate. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Magee is in charge of arrangements.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Lorette Lilly Millwood and Jim Millwood; sister, Bessie Ainsworth; husband, Thomas Eddie Coggin; husband, Royce J. Mize.
She is survived by her daughter, Sherri Burnham (Jimmy), Mendenhall; son, Royce Jarrell Mize Jr. (Amy), and sister, Laura Christine Heller; 7 grandchildren, and a host of great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, January 27, 2016 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Magee.
