A memorial visitation will be 1:00 to 4:00 p.m., Saturday, January 30, at the West Liberty Community Center followed by a time of food and fellowship at the center. A memorial fund has been established.
Cynthia Leann Sexton was born December 25, 1956, in Iowa City, the daughter of Leroy and Alvera (Wilson) Sexton. She was a 1975 graduate of West Branch High School. She was united in marriage to Richard Holmes on June 3, 1988, in Columbus Junction. She was employed at Casey's Convenience Store for 14 years, worked for Mr. B's cleaning service and other local businesses and also worked at Pizza Hut in Muscatine. In her younger years she was involved in 4H, and was a member of the West Branch High School basketball team. She enjoyed camping, horses, collecting elephants and most importantly, her grandchildren and great-granddaughter.
Survivors include her husband, Richard of Moscow; two daughters, Jeannie (Ryan) Crull of Edgewood, IL, and Shannon Leggett (Tisa Morgan) of West Liberty; her father and step-mother, Leroy and Sylvia Sexton of West Liberty; 12 grandchildren, Destiny, Courtney, Coy, Karina, Morgan, Tristen, Tanner, Avery, Dustin, Dawson, Briar and Cabb; one great-granddaughter, Aaliyah Gamon; one sister, Rebecca (Mike) Crowell of Fort Madison; four step-sisters, Taffy Jo Sexton, and Tammi Sexton, both of Port St. Lucie, FL, and Karen Cabrera of Iowa City, and Kelley Albrecht of Madison, WI; and one step-brother, Kevin Sexton of Iowa City.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Alvera Goody, one brother, Gregory Sexton and her grandparents.
