LITTLE AXE
After 60 years of a life well lived, Daniel Paul "Danny" Deatherage said goodbye to his earthly home on Thursday, January 21, 2016, following a tragic accident. Danny was born on December 1, 1955, in Oklahoma City to Frank Edward and Virginia Ann (Joslin) Deatherage. He graduated from Del City High School. Danny had an unmatched love for the outdoors, for fishing and for hunting. He was talented in many areas; he had a green thumb and enjoyed gardening. Danny was quite the artist, woodworking, drawing and painting on many different mediums. Described by his family as a hard worker, he was also the baby of the family and a little bit of a mama's boy. You would consider yourself blessed when you got one of his famous hugs. A great husband and dad, Danny was dedicated to taking care of his family. He was preceded in death by his father, Frank Deatherage; and his brother, Mike Deatherage. Danny is survived by his wife, Mary; his devoted daughter, Amanda; mother, Virginia Franks; sister, Pattsy Payne; and numerous other family and friends. We will be celebrating Danny's life at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Resthaven Funeral Home Chapel. He will be laid to rest at Resthaven Memory Gardens.
