She was born on June 9, 1924 in Fonda, the daughter of the late Bert and Florence (Reese) Cranker.
Mrs. Rose was a graduate of Fonda High School and Rochester School of Dental Hygiene.
She was employed for nearly 40 years as a dental hygienist. She worked in the offices of Dr. Liberti in Gloversville, Dr. Bowe and Dr. Bialobok in Fonda, and lastly for her son, Dr. Gary DiSanto-Rose in Johnstown until her retirement.
Gladys was a member of the Fonda Reformed Church for over 50 years where she enjoyed singing in the choir. Most recently she was a member of the Mayfield Presbyterian Church.
She was a former member of the Johnstown Moose.
Gladys is survived by her loving family including her daughter, Susan Rose of Hutchinson Island, Florida, and two sons and daughter in laws, Gary and Mary DiSanto-Rose of Mayfield, and James and Shelly Rose of Broadalbin. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, five great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Rose was predeceased by her caring husband, Harold C. Rose whom she married on March 25, 1945, and her dear brother, Keith Cranker.
Playing the piano and singing songs with her family were her most enjoyable activities. Gladys was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother whose genuine, caring smile and kind personality made her an everlasting friend to all who met her.
