Bobby Ray Acree was born in Walton, Kentucky on June 14, 1931 and passed away at his home in Verona, Kentucky on January 24, 2016 at the age of 84. He was the son of the late J. C. and Lillian Bridges Acree.
On May 9, 1953, Bob was united in marriage with Eloise Arnett. In addition to his loving wife, he is survived by his son: Robin G. (Robin L.) Acree of Ft. Mitchell, daughter: Lee Anne Ryan (Brian Spinks) of Verona; six grandchildren; six great grandchildren. Mr. Acree was preceded in death by his son: Jeff Acree; son-in-law: Todd Ryan; great grandson: Ryan Frilling; brother: William Acree and sister: Betty John Allen.
A member and former deacon of the Walton Christian Church, Bob was a member of the Teamsters, driving trucks for the Ford Brothers and later Roadway. He was very proud of his service to his country, serving in the United States Army during the Korean War.
Funeral services will be 11:00 AM, Thursday, January 28, 2016 at the Hamilton – Stanley Funeral Home, 14635 Walton – Verona Rd., Verona, KY 41092. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Wednesday from 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM. Burial will be in the New Bethel Cemetery, Verona, KY. Memorials are suggested to the Walton Christian Church or the Verona E.M.S.
