Muriel G. Dixon, 89, Hibbing, died Saturday, January 23, 2016, at home with family by her side. She was born on July 23, 1926 to John and Eleanor (Quisberg) Boie in Belgrade, MN.

A homemaker by trade, Muriel had been a resident of Hibbing since 1954, moving from Chisholm where she resided for three years. She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Hibbing, the church ladies guild, and their bible study groups. She also volunteered at Jefferson School on that district's election board. Muriel was a person who loved her family dearly, enjoyed her company, and loved to cook.

Muriel is survived by her children: Larry (Janet) Dixon, Barbara (Stuart) Dye, John (Kathy) Dixon, Kathleen (Roger) Hamrick, Diane (Jerry) Sanborn, Patricia (Perry) Haverkamp, and Wayne Dixon; siblings: Harriet Drake, Richard Boie, Ramona Mohs, Dorothy (Bill) Bahe, David (Marsha) Boie, Roger Boie, Janet Romness, James (Kathy) Boie, and Lyle (Darlene) Boie; 16 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren and one on the way; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Wayne in 2002; grandson, Jerry Sanborn; and son-in-law, James Sirjord.

Interment was in Maple Hill Cemetery of Hibbing.
