Rosetta "Rose" L. Schwanke, age 84 of Perham, MN died Wednesday, January 20, 2016 in Perham Living.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, January 26 beginning at 1:00 p.m. at the United Methodist Church in Perham. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be held in the Perham Village Cemetery at a later date.
Rosetta Louise Gustavson was born to Sivert and Elsie (Flatau) Gustavson on August 19, 1931 at St. James Hospital in Perham. She was confirmed at Zion Evangelical Reformed Church in Perham and later joined the Perham United Methodist Church. She attended Perham High School until her 10th year when she left to work at Johnnie's Café to waitress and later to own. Rose managed the café for five years. Rose was united in marriage to Emil Schwanke on March 26, 1955. Together they had four boys whom Rose stayed home to raise. She enjoyed gardening, sewing and cooking.
Surviving Rosetta are her four sons, Ronald, Stephen, Greg and Richard (Carrie); her grandchildren, Britta (Dan), Jared (Ali), Michelle (Derek), Nicole (Jon), Jonathan (Lynn) and Kelley; her great-grandchildren, Tristen, Parker, Evelyn and Skylar; her sister, Mary (Maurice) Skoog; her brother, Harold (Shirley) Gustavson; along with numerous nephews and nieces.
Preceding Rosetta in death were her parents; and her husband, Emil in 2006.
