Howard Raymond Tucker, age 97, of Auburn passed away on Sunday, January 24, 2016 at his Auburn home.

Mr. Tucker was born October 14, 1918 in Lagro, Indiana to Raymond and Florence (Kerr) Tucker.

He married Ruth Rebecca Freshour on December 7, 1939 in Lagro. She preceded him in death on June 20, 2008.

Mr. Tucker honorably served his country during WWII in the United States Army from 1943 until 1946. During this time he was stationed in both Fort Knox, Kentucky and Germany. While serving in the Army he graduated from Armored School and led a company of men who were tasked with testing new types of armored tanks.

After his time in the Army he came back to Waterloo and co-founded the business that later became Charleston Metal Products. He was a co-owner and involved in the company until his retirement in 1985.

Mr. Tucker was a member of the Waterloo United Methodist Church in Waterloo. He was also a member of the St. Joe Valley Conservation Club in St. Joe, the South Gate Masonic Lodge in Fort Wayne and the Fort Wayne Scottish Rite. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Survivors include: Son and daughter-in-law, George William and Darlene Tucker of Waterloo; Daughter and son-in-law, Rebecca and George Davis of Auburn; 5 Grandchildren, Christine and Eric Rowe, Bill and Jeanna Tucker, Jr., Dan and C. J. Tucker, Kimberly and Randy Hall and Jessica and Jeremy Coulon; 7 Great grandchildren, Lauren Rowe, Taylor Rowe, Tyson Rowe, Shelby Tucker, Lily Tucker, Clay Tucker and Ryan Hall; 2 Great great grandchildren, Carson Hall and Kyle Hall; 1 sister, Nettie McCamamck of Lagro.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Ruth Tucker, grandson, Adam Davis and 4 brothers, Eugene Tucker, Duward Tucker, Francis Tucker and Jerry Tucker.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 28, 2016 from 3:00 to 7:00 PM at Feller and Clark Funeral Home, 875 South Wayne Street in Waterloo.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 29, 2016 at 11:00 AM at Feller and Clark Funeral Home in Waterloo.

Officiating will be Rev. Michael Halferty.
