Joseph, 86, passed away Sunday, January 24, 2016, surrounded by his loving and devoted family. Joe was the youngest of four sons of Gerald G. and Mary E. (Leasure) Klein.

He graduated from New Kensington High School and along with six of his football teammates, was recruited by Michigan State College to play football for Clarence "Biggie" Munn. Together, they helped forge a football dynasty, culminating in two National Championship teams (1951,1952).

Graduating with a teaching degree in 1953, Joe was recruited by the Philidelphia Eagles, but decided to change gears to embark on a 7- year sales career with Coca Cola, then moved on to become a sales associate with the Servo-mation Corp. until his retirement in 1991.

Joe was honored to be inducted into the New Kensington/Kiski Valley Sports Hall of Fame in 2009 for his accomplished football career.

Joe was preceded in death by his wife of 46 years in 2001, Barbara (Ochsner) Klein.

Surviving are his children, Mary (James) Cambridge, Julie Rosin and Thomas (JoAnn) Klein; 7 grandchildren, Paul (Amanda) Cambridge, Robert (Erica) Cambridge, Elizabeth Cambridge, Joseph Rosin, Kathryn, Sarah and Emily Klein; 3 great grandchildren, Grace, Alyssa and Andrew Cambridge.

A celebration of Joe's life was held Wednesday, at the Palmer, Bush and Jensen Family Funeral Homes, Delta Chapel, Lansing, with Deacon Jim Corder officiating. Interment followed at Deepdale Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, please consider memorial contributions to the American Heart Association or the American Diabetes Association in memory of Joe.

A special thank you to Dr. Sadiq Syed for his personal, attentive care he gave our father these past years and most recently, our advocates and nurses of McLaren Greater Lansing, 3Chi, Dana, Mary and Mandy, who comforted him and guided us on dad's journey.
