Alvin L. Anderson, 92, of Maddock and Leeds, ND, died Jan. 12, 2016 at the Heart of America Medical Center in Rugby, ND. Family and friends are invited to a memorial gathering Saturday, April 9 at the Maddock Community Center from 2 to 4 p.m. Interment will be in the Immanuel Lutheran Church Cemetery, rural Maddock. The Nelson Funeral Home of Maddock is in charge of arrangements.

Alvin L. Anderson was born Oct. 25, 1923 in Albert Township, Benson County to Emil and Alma (Kirkeby) Anderson. He attended the Albert Township school and helped his father farm while growing up. He worked for area farmers most of his life. In later years he worked for Harold Jorgenson and made his home with the Jorgensons until moving into Leeds. In October 2015 he moved to the Maddock Memorial Home.

He was a baptized and confirmed member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, rural Maddock. His greatest joy was getting into his pickup and driving out to the farm to check everything out.

Survivors include a brother, Lloyd (Phyllis) Anderson; nieces Linn Morain, Janet (Glen) Peterson, Faye (Perry) Glover and Simone Anderson; and a stepniece, Karen (David) Larson.

He was preceded in death by his parents; four siblings and their spouses, Hazel (Maynard) Blegen, Odin (Betty) Anderson, Edna (Clarence) Nottestad and Bernice (Vernie) Erickson; and a nephew, Kenneth Nottestad.
