Sylvia P. Hughes, 96, of Modena, passed away on Thursday, January 21, 2016 at Freedom Village.
She was the wife of Charles M. Hughes, Jr. with whom she would have shared 54 years of marriage in March.
Born in Mifflin Co., Sylvia was the daughter of the late Sally (Zook) and Jonathan Kauffman.
Sylvia loved her flower garden, crafts and crocheting.
She is survived by four children: Cedric "John" Horst, husband of Connie, of Mentor, Ohio, Joan Horst of Denver, Pa., Gary Horst, husband of Milene, of Mentor Ohio, Lisa M. Crockett, wife of Robert, of Perryville, Md., and son-in-law, Thomas Adams of Naples, Fl.; stepsons, Charles Hughes, III, husband of Crystal of Valley Twp. and Havard "Pete" Hughes, husband of Cathy, of Reading; 19 grandchildren, more than 30 great grandchildren and three great, great grandchildren.
Sylvia was predeceased by her daughter, Joann Adams; and 10 siblings.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, January 29th at 1 PM at Hephzibah Baptist Cemetery, 2237 Strasburg Rd, Coatesville, PA 19320.
