Ruth Gorrell Plattner, 87, of Marshall, MO, died Friday, January 22, 2016 at Mar-Saline Manor in Marshall.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, January 27, 2016 at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Marshall with William W. Harlow officiating. Burial will be in Malta Bend Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to Malta Bend Cemetery or Marshall Senior Center. Born July 20, 1928 in Marshall, she was the daughter of the late Earl Gorrell and Minnie Buie Gorrell. Ruth was a graduate of Malta Bend High School and then graduated from the Nurse's Training Program at Marshall Vocational Technical School. She worked as a medical technician for many years at Mar-Saline Manor and Saline County Rest Home. Ruth was married to Carl Morrow, the father of her children, and he survives of rural Marshall. She later married Harry Plattner who preceded her in death.
She is survived by four children: Carol Hagedorn and husband Robert of Lee's Summit, Larry Morrow and wife Pat of rural Marshall, Michael Morrow and wife Teresa of Marshall, and Susan Bartlett and husband David of Windsor; six grandchildren: Melissa Stanton, Carrie Morrow, Clay Hagedorn, Luke Hagedorn, Carl James Morrow and Steven Bartlett; three step-grandchildren: Brandy Taylor, Dannielle Fry, and Matthew Fry; as well as several great-grandchildren; step great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, John Morrow; and three brothers: William Gorrell, Lloyd Wilson Gorrell, and Robert Gorrell.
