A memorial service for Robert Alan Fisk will be held at 3 p.m. Monday at United Methodist Church with the Rev. Robert Keller officiating. Myers Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

Fisk, 32, died Thursday at his home after a long illness.

He was a native of San Francisco and attended Bakersfield College and Fresno State where he graduated as a physical education major.

Fisk graduated fron the police academy at Butte College in 1977 and joined the Porterville Police department that year. He contined police training during his six years with the force and received an intermediate certificate from the Commission on Peace Officer Standards and Training.

Fisk was acting watch commander for the PPD.

He was named Young Officer of the Year in 1982 for developing the Neighborhood Watch Program. He was commended by the city council in 1979 for outstanding performance.

Fisk was a member of California Peace Officer's Association, Tulare County Peace Officer's Association, and the Porterville Police Officers Association where he was a board member for several years.

Surviving are his wife, Sharon Fisk of Porterville; a son, Michael Fisk of Porterville; three brothers, Richard of Boulder, Colo., Jim of Dixon, Mark of Fairfield; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Delbert Fisk of Fairfield; and his grandfather, Del Fisk Sr. of Willows.

Memorials in lieu of flowers, may be made to Cancer Society or Tulare Hospice Association.
