Mable Mae Reather Griffin Davis was born January 24, 1920, to Luther Griffin and Bessie Corine Houston Griffin in Kemper County, MS.

She was a member of Unity Springs Missionary Baptist Church in DeKalb, MS. Working along side of her beloved husband, she was a successful farmer who was skilled in producing crops, cattle, and hogs.

On September 10, 1935, she married Jefferson "Jeff" Davis, the son of Charles Davis and Roseanna Love Davis, and they had sixteen children, nine sons and seven daughters, and they raised a grandchild, a granddaughter, as their own.

She died January 22, 2016, at the age of 95.

She was the Wife of Jefferson "Jeff" Davis; the Mother of Curlie Mae Davis Jones, Morine Davis Rush, Helen Davis, Mae Retha Davis, Viola Davis Drake, Johnnie Mae Davis Clemons, Bessie Lee Davis, Jefferson "Jeff" Davis, Jr., Leon Davis, Henry Lee Davis, Joe Davis, Hubert Davis, Cleo Davis, Herbert Davis, Marzell Davis, and Jimmy Davis; the Granddaughter she raised as her own child, Mableline Davis Greer; the Daughter of Luther Griffin and Bessie Corine Houston Griffin Pollock; the Step Daughter of Quincy Pollock; the Sister of Alberta Griffin Gibson, Girlee Griffin Burrage, Willie Griffin, J.W.
