He was born Nov. 13, 1930, in Kimball, Neb., to David and Doris Person.
He married the love of his life, Viola Lemaster on June 1, 1952, in Pine Bluffs. They lived together on the family farm in Banner County, Neb., for 62 years, where Charlie was raised.
He worked on farms and ranches and for the Banner County Road Department for 42 years, including being highway Superintendent for 25 years. He was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church, 4th Degree Knights of Columbus with 8 years as Grand Knight and a member of the Elks Club in Scottsbluff, Neb.
He is survived by his wife, Viola Person of Pine Bluffs; children, Gary (Joyce) Person of North Platte, Neb., Rita (James) Stauffer of Harrisburg, Neb., John (Marion) Person of Norfolk, Va., Kimberly (Kip) Greenstreet of Littleton, Colo., and DeeDee (David) Shade of Bentonville, Ark.; sister, Joanne Taylor of Burns; brother Richard (Louise) Person of Albin; brother-in-law, John Lemaster of Albin; 12 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; and numerous friends and relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant brother.
