Norfolk - SSG Corey Antonio Lamb, 38, peacefully departed his earthly home Monday January 18, 2016, at Memorial Hospital Central in Colorado Springs. He was predeceased by grandmothers, Emma Lamb, Sarah Terry and Rita Finnell and grandfather, William Terry, Sr. Corey was born in Norfolk, VA on December 29, 1977 to Earl Bond and Nadine Lamb (Humphrey). As a teenager, Corey was led to Jesus Christ by his grandparents; he accepted Him as Lord and Savior of his life. Corey was united in marriage to Nakesha Lamb on December 23, 1999. He welcomed his two handsome boys, Malik and Corey who were the most important part of his life. In 1998, Corey enlisted in the Army. He served three tours oversees. Corey was deployed to Afghanistan, Iraq and Kuwait in support of Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom. He was stationed in various assignments where he developed lifelong friendships. Corey's final and most rewarding assignment was one that offered him an extended family; 59th QM at Fort Carson, Colorado. He was blessed with a large and loving family. Corey is survived by his beloved wife, Nakesha; sons, Malik and Corey(CJ); his parents, Earl Bond and Nadine Humphrey(David); grandparents, William and Judy Lamb, and Robert and Catherine Finnell; aunt and uncle, and bonus parents, Terry and Ronda Hamilton; brothers; sisters; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Chris and Katrina Coleman and a goddaughter. Corey will be deeply missed by his friends, family, and all who knew him. A service will be held, 2pm, Saturday, January 30, 2016 at Metropolitan Funeral Service, Berkley Chapel with the procession to the cemetery to immediately follow. Corey will be interred in Roosevelt Memorial Park. There will be a viewing held from 7-8pm on Friday at the funeral home.
