On January 8, 2016, Maxine Raines Mote, 83, died peacefully at her home on Camano Island, WA surrounded by all her daughters.
She was born in Pensacola, FL, but moved to Washington DC in 1950, where she met her husband of 59 years, the late Rev. John A. Mote. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lonnie Lee and Mattie Lou Raines of Pensacola.
She is survived by daughters Deborah Rice and husband Barry, Karen Wilson and husband Richard, and Susan Smith; three grandchildren, Joshua Smith, Laura Smith Mercaldo and Benjamin Smith.
A graveside service will be held at Boyds Presbyterian Church, Boyds, MD at a date to be determined. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Lovely Lane United Methodist Church, 2200 St. Paul St, Baltimore, MD 21218, or to Hospice of the Northwest, 227 Freeway Dr. Suite A, Mt. Vernon, WA 98273.
