Baby Arthur died from Icterus, otherwise known as neonatal Jaundice.

His mother was born Margaret Mary Ward in Glasgow, Scotland in 1895. But she was known as "Rita". Her father, Thomas Patrick Ward, died just prior to her birth. Rita's mother was Catherine Lees who was also born in Scotland. The family was actually Irish Catholic, however, a couple generations were born and raised in Scotland. Catherine Lees Ward, immigrated with her three young children, Thomas, Katie, and little Rita. Catherine married Dubliner, Arthur F. Jackson, in Butte, Montana in 1905. They met in Glasgow.

Margaret never had a father until the family resettled in Butte, so her step-father, Arthur F. Jackson was often listed as her father. She carried his name and was also known as Rita Jackson.

Rita married Fred Jackson in 1914 and later had twin boys born in December 1915; they called them Arthur and Fred, but within nine months, they both had died. Her third child was stillborn and it appears he was also named Fred. Rita died within a few days, just as her mother Catherine or Kate had died in child birth.

Little is known of the boys father, Frederick Atkinson, except that he was born in England and that he was a miner in Butte. Uncle Scotty once mentioned that Fred had a brother named Claude; he may have lived in Canada.

There are several Jacksons and Atkinsons buried in Holy Cross and other surrounding cemeteries.
