Lieut. Edward Somerset, of the Coldstream Guards, one of two victims of the air fatality at Hambrook, near Bristol, on Monday, was buried yesterday in Little Badminton Churchyard. Among the mourners at the quiet little church were the Duke and Duchess of Beaufort, the Dowager Duchess of Beaufort, Baron Frank de Tuyll, Lady Blanche Douglas, Lady Moyra Cavendish, and Mr. Evan Gibbs, of the Coldstream Guards. The flowers included a wreath from all ranks of the Coldstream Guards.

Edward {Matthias Tiarks] was to fly a weekend guest, Edward Somerset, a well-known sportsman and relative of the Duke of Beaufort, to Filton to catch a train. This was a regular trip with a few miles of the route following the railway line near Hambrook. Leaving Priddy at 3.30 p.m., the attraction of seeing a passenger train on the line seemed to have been an opportunity too good to be missed. Eyewitnesses said they had seen the Moth [Tiarks' aeroplane] "beat-up" the train, then stall and crash. Wreckage was scattered over a wide area and, regrettably, the two occupants, hurled some 60 yards, were fatally injured.
