Margaret McCorkle of Marks, 92, retired housekeeper, died of congestive heart failure on Sunday, September 21, 2000, at Tallahatchie General Hospital in Charleston. Services were at noon on Saturday, September 29, at Mount Olive Baptist Church in Tillatoba with burial in the church cemetery there. Delta Burial Funeral Home of Marks had charge.
Mrs. McCorkle was a Baptist and a member of the Heroines of Jericho.
She leaves three daughters, Mollie Simpson of Kansas City, MO, Joann Orr of Enid, and Fannie McCorkle of Denver; three sons, Arrie McCorkle of Enid, Joe L. McCorkle of Kansas City and Lewis McCorkle of Oakland, CA; two brothers, C. V. Williams of Chicago and Roy L. Williams of St. Louis; 18 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren and 21 great-great-grandchildren.
