NAUGATUCK — Mrs. R. Dianne Engelstad, 77, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, Jan 20, 2016, at her home.

Dianne was born in Chicago, Ill., June 1, 1938, a daughter of the late Melvin and Ruah (Post) Engelstad, and moved to Naugatuck from Illinois in her youth. She was educated in the Naugatuck school system and was a graduate of Naugatuck High School. She retired from Bank Boston in 2000, and later returned to work for TD Bank until her retirement. She was a member of Hillside Covenant Church and enjoyed trips to the casinos.

She is survived by a daughter, Pamela and her husband, Scott, of Naugatuck; five grandchildren, Karen, Charles, Jennifer, Matthew and Kristen; and four great-grandchildren, Eric, Robert, Corey and Nathaniel. She was predeceased by a daughter, Patricia Diane Johnson, in 2010.

Private funeral services with burial in Grove Cemetery will be held at the convenience of the family.

There are no calling hours. The Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Naugatuck, 201 Meadow St., is assisting the family with all arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Polycystic Kidney Disease Foundation, P.O. Box 871847, Kansas City, MO 64187-1847.
