Mr. Bob R. Howard, age 83 of Sparta, passed away on Thursday, January 21, 2016, at NHC Healthcare of Sparta. Born Thursday, February 18, 1932 in Sparta, he was the son of the late Lorenza Dow Howard and the late Rubye Lee Massa Howard. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in Korea.
Funeral services for Mr. Howard will be held at 11am, Monday, January 25, 2016 in the chapel of Oak Lawn Funeral Home with Dewey Young and Don Shuster officiating. Burial will follow in Shady Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday, January 24th from 4-8pm at the funeral home.
Surviving family members include the following:
wife of 61 years, Louise Howard
daughter - Sondra Brady and husband Tick
son - David Howard
brother - Evin Howard and wife Juanita
faithful four legged friend - Thomas
granddaughters - Carol Young and husband Tony
Sydney Lee Howard
step grandchildren - Hailie Young and Hanna Walls
A host of nieces, nephews and friends also survive.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Howard was preceded in death by a son, Bobby James Howard; daughter, Rita Carol Howard; sisters, Lorene Pippin, Susie Willhite and Barbara Eller; brothers, LD Howard, Dillard Howard and Jimmy Dale Howard.
