She was born January 23, 1938 in New Bremen, Ohio to Wallace and Rosella (Oldiges) Schaefer. She married Freeman “Buddy” Jones May 25, 1991 in Cassopolis, Michigan. He preceded her in death in 2001. She was also preceded in death by her parents, one daughter, Rosalie “Leta” Bousman; one sister, Carolyn Wolfe; and two brothers in law, Merlin Campbell and Carl Myers.
Louise was a leader of several 4H groups throughout the life of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a member of Penn Friends Church in Cassopolis for thirty five years where she taught Sunday School. She retired from E. R. Carpenter in Elkhart. Louise was a member of Thespian Troupe 2323.
Louise will be greatly missed by family and friends. She is survived by three daughters, Rose Lary of Dowagiac, Mary Shaffer of Cassopolis, Jackie (Jim) Wolfe of Nappanee, Indiana, two sons, Bill (Becky) Campbell of Grand Rapids, James Bousman, Jr. (Jennie Hall) of Lebanon, Tennessee; two step daughters, Connie Dawson of Dunlap, Indiana, Lori McGill of White Pigeon, Michigan; one step son, Tom Jones of Bristol, Indiana; fifteen grandchildren; fifteen step grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren; twenty four step great grandchildren; one sister, Rosanne Myers of Celina, Ohio; one brother John (Opal) Schaefer of St. Marys, Ohio; two brothers in law, Gordon Wolfe of Celina, Ohio, Howard (Bonnie) Campbell of Shoreham, Vermont; and a host of beloved nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Mrs. Jones’s remains will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband, Freeman “Buddy” Jones in Prairie Grove Cemetery in Cassopolis.
