Kyle Wesley Griffin, 18, of 1509 Hammersmith Drive, Winterville, died on January 21, 2016.

The funeral service will be conducted Sunday at 3 pm in Oakmont Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Pinewood Memorial Park.

Kyle was a 2015 graduate of DH Conley High School and was a student at Pitt Community College. He has always been an avid NC State Wolfpack fan, and had set a goal of transferring there to complete his studies. Kyle was a very friendly and loving person, with a good sense of humor. He enjoyed spending time with his many friends playing video games, watching sports, and skeet shooting. Kyle had a great love for college and professional sports, especially the Carolina Panthers and Atlanta Braves. He was a member of the youth group at Oakmont Baptist Church.

He is survived by his parents, Jeff and Carla Griffin; two brothers, Alex of Greenville and Brian of New York City; grandmother, Gladys Best; aunt and uncle Dallas and Denise Brisson, all of Fayetteville, NC; grandmother, Thelma Griffin Taylor and husband John; aunt and uncle Hal and Janet Knox; aunt and uncle Lindsey and Jamison Griffin, all of Greenville; aunt and uncle Roger and Gina Stanley of Cherry Hill, NJ; and numerous cousins, who Kyle loved dearly.

The family will receive friends Saturday from 5 to 7 pm at Wilkerson Funeral Home.
