Carrie Delores "Dee" Powell, 81, of Knoxville, passed away on Thursday, January 21, 2016, going home to heaven to meet her Lord in joyous celebration. She is remembered for her fun-loving heart and laughter and her tireless and positive energy. She was a devoted wife of 46 years, a loving and supportive mother and nana, a life-long friend, and a blessing to all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Bill and Irene Stalsworth, and two sisters, Laverne Stalsworth and Linda Davis. She is survived by her husband, Frank Powell; son and daughter-in-law, Greg and Jennifer Powell; stepchildren, Mac Powell and Judy Roy; granddaughter, Daphne Powell; grandson, Brody Powell; step grandchildren, Tyler Roy and Katie Roy; sister, Brenda Watson, and extended family. The family gives a special thank you to the staff of Summit View Nursing Home of Rocky Top, especially the caregivers of Greenbriar for their excellent and loving care. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, January 26, 2016 from 5:00 until 7:00 pm in the chapel of Berry-Lynnhurst Funeral Home, with the Funeral Service following at 7:00 pm. Burial will be held on Wednesday, January 27, 2016 at noon in Lynnhurst Cemetery. Everyone is asked to meet at the funeral home by 11:45 am to go in procession to the cemetery.
