BESSIE LEONA (LANE) REESE was born Dec. 4, 1902 to EDWIN H. and BESSIE COFFELT LANE, five miles west of Lamoni, Iowa. Her mother died one month after her birth and she was reared by Grandmother LANE.

She married CECIL KELLER REESE Sept. 25, 1920 at Madison, S. D. They had four sons; CECIL LANE REESE, CYRIL MEREDITH; FREDERICK EDWIN; and DONOVAN GENE.

CECIL and BESSIE spent most of their life farming in Minnesota and near Lamoni. In 1959 they retired and moved to town.

BESSIE and CECIL were active members of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, where CECIL served as a Deacon. He died Oct. 8, 1972.

April 1, 1978, BESSIE moved to Lamoni Manor where she died Aug. 7.

She was preceded in death by husband, infant son, and grandson KENNETH.

Survivors are son MEREDITH and wife DEAN, Lamoni; FREDERICK and wife JANET, Fort Dodge, Iowa; DONOVAN and wife SARAH, Dallas Texas; 12 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; nine brothers and sisters, including LOLA LANE, Lamoni.
