Katherine Carpenter was born in Palmyra, Missouri July 23, 1931 to Willie and Katie Reed. She moved to Chicago, Illinois where she worked as a candy striper for a local hospital and as a housekeeper for a local hotel. She gave birth to twin daughters in 1968. She then moved to Carbondale, Illinois in September of 1968 to raise her children until moving to Columbus, Ohio in 2001. She participated in activities with the Community Resource Center. A Memorial Service will be held January 23, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Egan Ryan Funeral Home Northwest Chapel, 4661 Kenny Road.
