Tom L. Black, age 70, of West Chester, Ohio, passed away Saturday, January 9, 2016 at West Chester Hospital following a long illness.

Tom was born May 22, 1945 in Milan, IN to Tom Robert and Georgena (Willman) Black, and graduated from Lawrenceburg High School. Tom served his country in the US Army from 1966-1968, and was employed at ABF Trucking for 25 years as a driver. He loved fishing, and woodworking, and he dearly loved animals. The last several years his diabetes caused him to be disabled and unable to work.

Tom was preceded in death by his grandson, Steven.

Surviving is his mother, Georgena Cole and his step father, Chester Cole, of Alexandria, IN; 2 sons, Tommy Black and Robbie Black, both of Walton, KY; 3 grandchildren, Kevin, Tyshan, and Dillan; and 2 great grandchildren. He is also survived by 2 brothers and their wives, Robert and JoAnn Black and Terry and Debbie Cole.

Funeral services will be Thursday, January 14, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at DeVries Funeral Home in Dillsboro, with Pastor Gordon Shinkle officiating. He will be laid to rest in Oakdale Cemetery. Friends may meet his family Thursday, January 14, 2016 from 12 Noon until service time at the funeral home.
