Golf Skeen, 76, died Monday at the Veteran's Mountain Home Hospital in Johnson City, Tennessee.
He was a lifelong resident of Powell Valley and a veteran of WWI.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Mary Gunn, Detroit, Michigan and Mrs. Linda Sue McKee, Taylor, Michigan. Four sons; Paul Light, Houston, Texas, Carl Light, Lynwood, Calif., Donnie and Ronnie Skeen both of Big Stone Gap: Two sisters, Mrs. Minnie Blevins, Big Stone Gap and Mrs. Leona Boggs, Alexandria, Va. and 12 grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday at American Legion Methodist Church with Rev. Hugh Bowers officiating. Burial was in the Skeen Family Cemetery-Skeen Ridge. Military graveside services were conducted by the Col. C.H. Hagy Chapter No. 45 of the D.A.V.
Holding Funeral Home, Big Stone Gap was in charge of arrangements.
