Mr. Robert O. Dyess, 83, a native and resident of Waynesboro, MS passed from this life Wednesday, January 20, 2016 at Wayne General Hospital in Waynesboro. He was a member of Community Southern Methodist Church and was retired as the owner and operator of Dyess Truck & Trailer. He served in the United States Army and was a Veteran of the Korean Conflict. Mr. Dyess is preceded in death by his wife, Joan Ella Dyess. He is survived by 5 daughters, Deborah Ann Dyess of Columbus, NC, Mariea Stevens (Larry) of Buckatunna, Roberta Ann Pugh (Darren) of Beat Four, Jenny Cherry of Waynesboro, Penny Theresa Hudson of Lucedale; 2 brothers, John Mabry Dyess of Denton, TX, David Dyess of Barlow, AL; 13 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren. Visitation for Mr. Dyess will be held from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM, Thursday, January 21, 2016 in the Parlor of Freeman Funeral Home in Waynesboro. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, January 22, 2016 from the Chapel of Freeman Funeral Home in Waynesboro with Rev. Roger Douglas officiating. Interment will be in Community Southern Cemetery in Wayne County.
