UNION - Reba Sanders Murphy, 86, of 109 Pine St. died June 29, 2002, at Oakmont Residential after a brief illness.


A native of Union, she was a daughter of the late W.T. and Cleora Gallman Sanders and the wife of Harold B. Murphy.

She was a member of Unity United Methodist Church, where she worked in the church nursery for several years. A graduate of Spartanburg General Hospital School of Nursing, she was a retired registered nurse with Hope Hospital in Lockhart after 25 years of service and was a member of the Nurses' Club.

Surviving in addition to her husband are a sister, Juanita Comer of Union and a brother, Carroll Sanders of Jonesville.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 7:30 tonight at the S.R. Holcombe Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at First Baptist Church, conducted by the Rev. Clayton Howerton. Burial will be in Union Memorial Gardens. The body will be placed in the church at 10 a.m.

The family is at the home of her niece, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Lawson, 218 Harwood Heights, Union.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Unity United Methodist Church Piano Fund, 206 Hart St., Union, S.C. or to the First Baptist Church, 405 E. Main St., Union, S.C. 29379 or to the Connie Maxwell Children's Home, P.O. Box 1178, Greenwood, S.C. 29648
