Deborah Diane “Debbie” Maki, age 54, of 306 Elm Avenue, Munising, died unexpectedly in the Emergency Room of Munising Memorial Hospital on Thursday, February 4, 2010, following a brief illness.

She was born on December 11, 1955, in Detroit. Daughter of Arnold “Pie” and Reva Rose (Johns) Maki, Debbie graduated from Wm. G. Mather High School in 1973.

At age 16, Debbie married James Glen Patterson on April 17, 1972, in Escambia, Florida. They had two daughters, Nancy and Mellissa Patterson. She was a homemaker and raised her two daughters. She married Randy Hudson in 1984.

Debbie enjoyed visiting with her friends at the Drop-In Center in Munising. She enjoyed trips to the casino and loved her dog Elway, and to be on her computer.

She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law – Mellissa and Todd Gould of Shingleton and Nancy and Jason Halliburton of Munising; soul mate of thirty-two years– Randy Hudson of Munising; grandchildren – Brandon Monroe, Nancy, Nevaeh, Terriyanna, and Dyamond Halliburton, and Devon and Nikki Gould; sister – Kelli Maki–Paquette of Munising; and nieces - Shaylee and Ilyssa Makinen. Debbie was preceded in death by her parents Pie and Reva, grandson Dillon Joseph Gould, and niece Trina Lynn Maki, Debbie's sister, Kelli Maki-Paquette's, daughter who died in a tragic trailer explosion and fire from a gas dryer in Au Train (Debbie's daughter, Nancy Patterson, was also burned in that accident).

Services were held at the Bowerman Funeral Home on Tuesday February 9, 2010. Visitation was held from 11:00 a.m until 1:00 p.m., and Pastor Ted Jolls conducted the funeral at 1:00 p.m. A fellowship gathering was held at the Limestone Baptist Church, Limestone, Michigan, following the services.
