Funeral services for Johnny Ray Sims, 65, of Downsville, LA will be held at 10:00 AM, Friday, July 1, 2011 in the chapel of Kilpatrick Funeral Home West Monroe, LA. Rev. Tony Cassels and Rev. Don Whatley will be officiating. Interment will follow at Kilpatrick's Serenity Gardens under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home West Monroe.

Mr. Sims was born November 12, 1945 in Monroe, LA and passed away June 28, 2011 in Monroe. He served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War and was a retired Ironworker.

Mr. Sims was a member of Ironworkers Local 710 in Monroe, LA and Ironworkers Local 310 in Little Rock, AR. He was an avid fisherman, loved working around the home, building various projects, traveling and spending time with his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife; JoAnn Sims, 3 sons, Travis Ray Sims, Johnny Lee Sims and wife Michelle and Shane Sims; 3 step-children; Tony Reynolds, Randy Reynolds and Lisa Reynolds; grandchildren; Lillie Sims, Evan Sims; 6 step-grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren; sister, Jerry Lynn Arrant and husband Ed; brother, Robert Earl Sims.
