Funeral service for Barney E. Jones will be Saturday, January 23, 2016 at 1:00 PM at Peck Funeral Home Chapel. Burial with Military Honors will be in Hartselle Memory Gardens. Visitation will be Saturday, January 23, 2016 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the funeral home.
Mr. Jones died Tuesday at Crestwood Medical Center. He was born in Etowah County to Bert T. Jones and Edna Irene Wright Jones. Barney was a World War II - U.S. Army Veteran, a member of the I V 4th Division and a Tech. Sgt. Mechanic. His division was among the first to invade Normandy. He was also retired from Chevron USA Oil where he worked as a mechanic. Mr. Jones was also preceded in death by his wife Fannie Livingston Jones.
