Born on October 30, 1939 in Harrisburg, he was the son of the late Russel and Evelyn (Brunner) Grim and he was the widower of Marcia (Hamm) Grim. He was also preceded in death by his second wife Nancy (Buchter) Grim.
Bob was a graduate of Camp Hill High School. He went on to receive his Bachelors’ degree from Lehigh University and he completed his MBA at the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania. He was a Captain and Pilot in the U.S. Air Force, serving during the Vietnam War. He graduated from Pilot School in 1964. He was the President and CEO of R.T. Grim Electronics, Camp Hill.
Bob Grim was a steadfast and calming presence to anyone he met. He was a father to three but also a father figure and mentor to many more. He was a devoted husband to two women and the constant friend to many. Bob Grim was a talented, tenacious and successful businessman. He loved adventure and traveled the world extensively. He flew planes, road motorcycles, sailed lakes, floated wild rivers, stood on glaciers, beaches, and overlooks. He saw much of the world's great art and architecture and shared great meals in beautiful places with amazing friends. Bob laughed a lot, and when he laughed hard he could only keep one eye open. It was contagious.
But most of all, Bob Grim was there for the people he loved.
Bob is survived by his daughters, Deanne (Grim) Fitzpatrick and her husband Peter, of Killington, VT, and Suzy Grim, of Camp Hill. His son, Robert Russel Grim, Jr., and his wife Theodora Parkinson, of Hood River, OR. Four grandchildren, Mason Lazerchef, Grace Grim, Russel Grim, and Jack Grim.
The family invites you to a "Bob-Style" celebration of his life to be held at 11:00 am on Sunday, January 24, 2015 at his place of business, R.T. Grim Company 3925 East Trindle Road, Camp Hill, PA 17011. Bring warm clothes, as we'll be in the warehouse space of the building for the memorial service.
