Edward "Ed" Franklin Saunders, 88, departed this life on Tuesday, September 12, 2006. He was born in Little Rock, Kentucky to Thomas F. and Stella (nee. Kissick) Saunders.

He married Jequita "Jackie" Adams on November 4, 1943. They were married for 62 years. He was a faithful member of the Church of Christ and attended the Westside Church of Christ in Aurora for over 50 years.

He was a World War II veteran, enlisting in the Army in 1941. He fought in the Battle of the Bulge, and was honorably discharged in 1946, after attaining the rank of Sergeant. He was a glazier for Carlson's Art and Glass in Wheaton for more than 55 years.

He is survived by his wife Jequita "Jackie" (nee. Adams) Saunders, three children Linda (Alvin) Schmidt of Lake Waccamaw, NC, Edward (Gretta) Saunders of Noble, OK and Denise (Richard) Cyphers of Aurora, IL; grandchildren Douglas (Kristy) Schmidt, Kimberly (Mark) Rega, Cheryl (Kevin Kibling) Schmidt, Bradley (Julie) Curry, Bryan (Sheryl) Curry, Erik (Kathleen) Cyphers; great-grandchildren Trent Cyphers, Chloe and Chandler Schmidt, Bethany, and Tiffany Curry; a sister-in-law Carol (Al Crawford) Honaker of Aurora and a brother-in-law Bud (Jo) Adams of Scottsdale, AZ.

In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his brother Cecil Saunders.

Visitation will be held 4-8 P.M. Friday, September 15, 2006 at Moss Family Funeral Home, 209 South Batavia Ave. Batavia, IL.

Funeral services will be held 10:00 A.M. Saturday, September 16, 2006 at Moss Family Funeral Home. David Diestelkamp will officiate. Interment will follow at River Hills Memorial Park.
