Burt was born in Columbus, MT on November 21, 1942 and given the birth name, Gary Wayne Johnson. At the age of 2 months, Burt was adopted by Jim and Clara Moore, who lovingly provided him the foundation to become the man his family and friends knew him to be. At age 17, Burt left home to join the Navy, where he served 4 years out of San Francisco on the USS Interdictor, Radar Picket Ship. After the military, Burt worked for Cass-Clay Creamery in Fargo, ND. From there, he went on to become a Police Officer in Moorhead, MN, where he served on the force for 2 years. In 1967, he started working for Pioneer Rim and Wheel, and was there until his retirement in 2001. After fulfilling Mary's 1-year mandatory retirement, Burt became a licensed realtor and continued through the end of 2015, assisting people in realizing their dream of owning a home.
