Elsie M. Shoesmith, 96, of Yakima died Sunday.
Mrs. Shoesmith was born in Spring Creek, Kan. She worked in the fields in Yakima and at Olive's Lunch Cafe and the Club Cafe. Mrs. Shoesmith later lived on a fruit ranch in Wiley City, managed an apartment building and worked at the Tea Room Restaurant in Seattle.
Survivors include nine grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and seven great-great grandchildren.
A private family memorial service will be held at a later date. Inurnment will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Seattle. Keith and Keith Funeral Home, Yakima, is in charge of local arrangements.
