The angelic hosts came for Denise Janet Winston Grayson of Teague in the Providence Medical Center of Waco on Thursday, Jan. 7, 2016, among loving family and devoted friends.
Viewing will be held Friday, Jan. 15 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., with the family present from 6 to 7 p.m. at Moore’s Angelic Funeral Home, 406 Monroe St. in Teague..
Funeral services will be held Saturday, Jan. 16 at 1 p.m. in the Moore’s Angelic Chapel, with Rev. Kenneth Bailey, pastor of Union Primitive Baptist Church, officiating. Interment will be in the Sandhill Cemetery in Buffalo.
Grayson was born Feb. 26, 1958 in Houston, to Betty Jean Barnett Winston and A. J. Percipha. However, she was raised in Teague by her grandmother, Exia Bell Miles.
She was a graduate of Teague High School in Teague, and baptized in Union Primitive Baptist Church of Teague.
Denise and James E. Grayson were married Nov. 5, 1983 and their more-than 32 years of marriage ended with her death.
Denise worked in the food service industry throughout her adult life, at a number of local institutions, to include Teague General Hospital, Teague ISD, and the Mexia State Supported Living Center, where she was employed at the time of her death.
Denise was a faithful, involved and active member of Union Primitive Baptist Church and served in the position of custodian and chairman of the church food committee. She valued and took pride in her service as a church usher.
Denise was preceded in death by her parents and grandmother.
She leaves to cherish her loving memory her husband, of Teague; her son, Ilenza Owens, of Teague; her twin brother, Dennis Winston, of Teague; three sisters, Wanda Randle Rice and husband, James, Alice Conner and husband, Autry, all of Teague, and Alberta Harvey of Tehuacana; a special aunt, Mary Lou Randle, of Teague; four grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
