Arvada, Colo. -­ Mary K. Russell, 79, died Sunday, Aug. 19, 2001, at the Colorado Lutheran Home. She was born Nov. 27, 1921, near St. Peter to Matthew and Theresa Boxler.

She married Harry Raymond Russell on May 19, 1940, in Hoxie. He died June 21, 1989.

She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, serving as the National Chapeau for the auxiliary in 1981-82. She was active in the New Mexico Girl´s State program and the Miss Hobbs Pageant. She was a Avon representative for more than 30 years.

Survivors include two sons, Raymond, Arvada, and Michael, Kansas City, Kan.; four daughters, Sandra Oldson, Loveland, Colo., Sharon Evans, Atlanta, Ga., Judy Ussery, San Antonio, Texas, and Jana Baker, Hobbs, N.M.; a brother, Elmer Boxler, Hoxie; a sister, Carolyn Nelson, Englewood, Colo.; 19 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, Rex Edward, and a brother, Kenneth Boxler.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at St. Frances Catholic Church, Hoxie, with Father Benjamin Saw officiating; burial in Hoxie Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1 to 8 p.m. Friday at Mickey-Leopold Funeral Chapel, Hoxie.

Memorials are suggested to the Colorado Lutheran Home, Arvada, or the Parkinson´s Foundation.
