Joyce (Green) Welch, 83, died on January 16, 2016. She was born on February 1, 1932 in Calhoun County, Alabama. She grew up on a farm and graduated from high school on May 26, 1950. One day after graduation, she married Hollis Perry Welch. They spent 65 years together working hand in hand on their farm where they raised two daughters and helped in raising seven grandchildren. She also worked for the U.S. Department of Agriculture, retiring after several years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Williams. She taught Beginners Sunday School Class for decades, and sang in the choir. She is survived by her two daughters, five grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, one sister, two sisters-in-law, one brother-in-law and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Evie Green; her husband; a brother and sister-in-law, James (Martha) Green; a sister and brother-in-law, Wynella (Frank) Waits; a sister, Bootsie Green; brothers, Paul and Ralph Green; and a brother and sister-in-law, Edkar (Jo) Green. Funeral: 1:00 p.m. January 20, 2016 at First Baptist Church of Williams.
