Services for Jeremy S. Alford, 21, who lost his life in a traffic accident at Main and East Ferry streets Thursday (June 26, 2003), will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Cedar Grove Baptist Church, 878 Humboldt Parkway. Burial will be in Forest Lawn.
The Buffalo native, a graduate of Kensington High School, had worked as a dietitian assistant at Sisters Hospital since 2001.
He was a member of the Bob Lanier After School organization and coached a girls basketball team that won several trophies.
His mother, Fannie Brown, donated his heart and other organs for transplants.
“Although he did not carry a donor card,” she said, “I know this is what he would have wanted. He was a healthy, strong boy, and his organs will help seven people continue their lives.”
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his father, Solomon; a sister, Camille Cates; and a brother, Gary, all of Buffalo.
